Self-Driving Wind Farm Tour

You will need your own vehicle for this tour, which uses an app to guide you through ten marked destinations on and around the first commercial wind farm in Southern California. RVs and coaches over 28 feet are not allowed on the wind farm. Sprinters 28 ft or less are permitted. Once booked, we send you an email confirmation, an app download, and instructions. Our APP is fully scripted and ADL Compliant.

The tour starts with a display yard of historical artifacts from the 1980s, including successful and failed wind turbine designs. You then continue through the wind farm to see more artifacts, large blades, and operating wind turbines over 400 feet tall, where you can get up close and take pictures. The tour ends with a stop at the Indigo Energy Facility, a natural gas peaker electrical power plant. You then exit from 19th Avenue to Indian Canyon Drive, knowing much more about renewable energy!

The tour takes approximately 1 1/2 hours, depending on your pace. Please respect others by not gathering at the marked destinations. Please allow cars ahead of you to finish their exploration before your turn.

Prices start at $29 for one adult, $27.50 for a senior (62+), and $25 for U.S. military. Discounts start at 3 paid tickets and are automatically calculated when booking. Kids under 12 are free.
